JustTags
A lightweight tag system. Staff create tags, give players access to them, and players pick one tag to show next to their name through PlaceholderAPI.
Requires: BukkitOfUtils
Optional: PlaceholderAPI (needed to display tags)
How It Works
- Tags have an id (the internal name used in commands and permissions) and a display (the text shown in-game, which supports color codes).
- A player can use a tag if any of these is true:
- the tag has been granted to them
- they have the permission
justtags.tag.<tag-id> - they have the permission
justtags.tag.*
- Each player has one active tag at a time. They choose it from the equip menu, or clear it to show no tag.
- If a tag is ungranted from a player, or deleted, it stops being their active tag.
Tags, grants, and active tags are stored in a database.
Menus
| Menu | Description |
|---|---|
| Equip | Lists only the tags the player can use. Click a tag to make it active; the active tag is marked. A Clear Tag button removes the active tag. |
| Tag List | A read-only, paged list of every tag on the server. |
| Delete Confirmation | Opens before a tag is deleted. Accept deletes the tag for everyone; Cancel keeps it. |
Permissions
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
justtags.commands.tags | Use the tags command |
justtags.commands.create | Create tags |
justtags.commands.delete | Delete tags |
justtags.commands.grant | Grant tags to players |
justtags.commands.ungrant | Remove granted tags from players |
justtags.commands.equip | Equip a tag |
justtags.commands.unequip | Unequip a tag |
justtags.commands.list | Open the tag list |
justtags.equip.others | Equip a tag for another player |
justtags.unequip.others | Unequip another player's tag |
justtags.tag.<tag-id> | Use a specific tag without a grant |
justtags.tag.* | Use every tag without a grant |
Placeholders
Requires PlaceholderAPI. Use these in your tab, scoreboard, or chat plugin.
| Placeholder | Description |
|---|---|
%jtags_equipped% | The player's active tag (empty if none) |
%jtags_container% | Same as %jtags_equipped% |
%jtags_left% | The active tag with a space before it, for placing after the player's name (empty if none) |
%jtags_right% | The active tag with a space after it, for placing before the player's name (empty if none) |
TIP
Use %jtags_left% or %jtags_right% rather than adding spaces to the tag's display text. The space only appears when the player has a tag, so players without one don't get a stray gap.
